About the role
The Specialist I, VDC supports construction and prefabrication efforts by producing accurate electrical models, drawings, and technical documents using VDC software. This role involves reviewing project documents, specifications, and submittals to extract critical construction information, while coordinating with internal teams, field staff, and external trade partners.
Responsibilities
- Create 3D models of electrical components to support construction and prefabrication workflows, under supervision
- Aid in the coordination of models and drawings based on project scope, collaborating with VDC team members, Project Managers, and field supervisors
- Contribute to detailing tasks and project modeling
- Support the production of final installation and as-built models for field use
- Draft and produce 2D drawings for prefabrication, one-lines, device layouts, and as-builts as required by the project
- Create point drawings to support layout and field accuracy
- Maintain file organization and update records of all drawings and project files per department standards
- Maintain accurate records of project data, including drawings, logs, correspondence, and timelines
- Generate data sheets aligned with project requirements, detailing materials, components, and building specifications
- Affirm data points for internal documentation and reporting purposes
- Attend project coordination meetings with supervision, to understand project progress and identify design adjustments
- Visit job site as needed to support field layout efforts and confirm proper implementation of VDC plans
- Provide support to prefabrication efforts in the shop when required
Qualifications and Requirements
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) required
- Associates degree in Architectural Technology or related construction degree (or construction experience) is preferred
- 0-2 years experience in VDC preferred
- Exposure to or experience working with Revit, AutoCAD, AutoDesk Suite, BIM 360, and BlueBeam

Physical Requirements
- Office environment requiring sitting and standing
- Travel to various construction sites is essential, exposing employee to outdoor elements, noise, and the need to stand and walk
