VDC Engineer

About the role

The VDC Engineer – Reality Capture will be part of a dynamic team focused on cutting-edge energy and solar projects. This role involves hands-on work in the field, capturing and analyzing project data using advanced mobile scanning systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform reality capture scanning at active job sites
• Translate complex data into actionable insights to improve project quality, safety, and performance
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate data into project workflows
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and contribute to the team's knowledge base

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field
• Exposure to construction processes or the AECO industry
• Experience or interest in BIM/VDC tools such as Revit, Navisworks, or Autodesk Construction Cloud
• Strong curiosity and willingness to learn reality capture, scanning, GIS, or drone technologies
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to learn complex technical workflows and apply them in real-world field environments

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in construction or project engineering
• Proficiency with ArcGIS, Trimble Business Center, or similar platforms
• Experience with laser scanning, drones, surveying, or reality capture workflows
• Basic programming, automation, or data visualization experience (Power BI, Dynamo, etc.)
