Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead VDC efforts for assigned projects from preconstruction through construction and closeout
- Support early project pursuits and preconstruction efforts through:
- Model-based site logistics
- Phasing and sequencing studies
- Visualization/constructability analysis
- Develop and manage project-specific VDC execution roadmaps aligned with overall project milestones
- Lead the development, implementation, and enforcement of project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEPs)
- Define and manage:
- Coordination strategies
- Model ownership and responsibilities
- Level of Development (LOD) requirements
- Model exchange and deliverable milestones
- Ensure all project participants adhere to BIM and VDC requirements established in the BEP
- Lead and manage multi-discipline model coordination for complex architectural, structural, and MEP systems
- Oversee federated model workflows, clash detection processes, and issue resolution tracking
- Facilitate and lead regular coordination meetings with Designers and Trade Partners
- Establish and manage coordination priorities, zones, and sequencing logic
- Lead model sign-off and “model freeze” milestones in preparation for shop drawings and construction
- Perform and oversee model QA/QC to ensure compliance with: Contract documents, Client requirements, Evans’ internal VDC standards
- Ensure models are accurate, constructible, and suitable for downstream use (coordination, layout, 4D, etc.)
- Provide technical guidance and problem-solving for complex modeling and coordination challenges
- Lead the use of Autodesk Forma (formerly ACC) and cloud-hosted Revit models to support project execution
- Support model-based workflows including: Model coordination, Model-based quantities (QTO), as applicable, 4D scheduling and sequencing support, when required
- Collaborate with field teams to ensure models are translated into clear, usable construction information
- Support integration of reality capture, scan-to-model, and verification workflows when applicable
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Science, VDC, or related field (Equivalent practical experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
- 3–5+ years of VDC / BIM experience on complex construction projects
- Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and sequencing
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit and BIM coordination workflows
- Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) preferred
- Proven ability to lead coordination efforts and manage multiple stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to mentor junior staff and work collaboratively across teams
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required
