VCSEL Engineering Technician

Responsibilities
- Assemble, align, and test complex electro-optical systems, including VCSEL-based components and systems
- Operate cleanroom semiconductor equipment such as pick-and-place, AuSn reflow soldering, wirebonding, and epoxy die attach tools
- Perform microscope-based assembly, inspection, cleaning, and product packaging following detailed procedures
- Conduct laser alignment and electro-optical characterization at component and system levels
- Record, track, and analyze production/test data, including SPC metrics to monitor yield and throughput
- Support engineering with process improvements, troubleshooting, and new product/process development
- Ensure compliance with QMS standards, cleanroom protocols, safety practices, and assist with equipment maintenance and material inventory
Requirements
- High School Diploma with 3–5 years of relevant experience OR Associate/Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline
- Hands-on experience in cleanroom environments, semiconductor assembly, or optoelectronic device manufacturing
- Strong manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail for precision assembly work
- Familiarity with electro-optical testing, electronic assemblies, and troubleshooting methodologies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data tracking/reporting
- U.S. Citizenship required due to facility access restrictions; ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work extended periods under a microscope
Qualifications
