Vault Teller
About the role
The primary purpose of the Vault Teller position is to provide quality service to members by processing financial transactions, resolving problems, answering questions and suggesting products and services that improve our members' financial well‑being. Vault Tellers also perform the essential functions and support duties of the Lead Teller in the Lead Teller’s absence.
Responsibilities

- Process members’ financial transactions, resolve problems, and answer questions regarding all BayPort Credit Union products and services.
- Provide a high level of quality service to members in the drive‑thru and walk‑up areas while following teller and check acceptance policies and procedures.
- Assist with cash received/disbursed from the vault and handle all teller requests, including negotiable and non‑negotiable instruments.
- Assist in balancing the vault, ATM, and cash‑dispensing machines.
- Review out‑of‑balance conditions at daily closing and reconcile teller cash drawers and vault as required.
- Ensure monthly cash drawer audits are completed and recorded as required.
- Handle complex member complaints, transaction inquiries, and corrections or adjustments.
- Perform opening and closing procedures for the branch.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- 1–2 years previous teller or related experience.
- Ability to assist members and fellow tellers in a professional manner.
- Strong cash‑handling skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
- Strong customer service skills, including telephone skills.
- Well‑organized and attentive to detail.
