Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital is a 280-bed acute care campus located in the heart of Grosse Pointe. Opened in 1945 by the Sisters of Bon Secours, it was acquired by Beaumont Health System in October 2007. The hospital offers medical, surgical, emergency, obstetric, and critical care services. The Cotton Family Birth Center is designated a Baby-Friendly® birth center by Baby-Friendly USA. The hospital is also home to The James and Patricia Anderson Surgical Center, a leading-edge hybrid surgical suite offering advanced learning and a wide array of procedures.

About the Role

Under site-designated leadership and according to established policies and procedures, performs accurate and efficient ultrasound exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment, independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. Technologists must demonstrate strong clinical skills and provide the best possible images for interpretation while following Corewell Health’s philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound exams accurately and efficiently.
• Utilize appropriate imaging equipment and demonstrate independent judgment.
• Provide high-quality images for interpretation.
• Adhere to Corewell Health’s Patient and Family Centered Care philosophy.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent.
• Graduate of a Diagnostic Ultrasound Program or equivalent.
• Minimum experience as gained at the student level.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire.
• One of the following certifications with 1 year of experience (unless otherwise noted):
• ARDMS Sonographer (S) – EXCLUDE Cardiac
• ARDMS Breast Sonographer (BS) – EXCLUDES Cardiac, General, Vascular
• ARDMS Abdomen (AB) – EXCLUDES Cardiac, Vascular
• ARDMS Ob/Gyn (OB) – EXCLUDES Cardiac, Vascular
• ARDMS Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) – Cardiac
• Cardiac Sonographer, Registered (RCS)
• ARDMS Vascular Technologist (VT) – Required within 1 year of hire for Vascular Department.
