About the role

Under site-designated leadership and according to established policies and procedures, performs accurate and efficient ultrasound exams using appropriate imaging equipment, independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. Technologists must demonstrate strong clinical skills and provide the best possible images for interpretation while adhering to Corewell Health’s philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care.

Qualifications

• Required associate’s degree or equivalent.
• Graduate of a Diagnostic Ultrasound Program or equivalent.
• Minimum experience as gained at student level.
• Required certifications (must be obtained upon hire unless otherwise noted):
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA or ARC American Red Cross.
  • Sonographer (S) – ARDMS (excludes Cardiac) – 1 year required.
  • Breast Sonographer (BS) – ARDMS (excludes Cardiac, General, Vascular) – 1 year required.
  • Abdomen (AB) – ARDMS (excludes Cardiac, Vascular) – 1 year required or
  • Ob/Gyn (OB) – ARDMS (excludes Cardiac, Vascular) – 1 year required or
  • Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, Registered (RDCS) – ARDMS (Cardiac) – 1 year required or
  • Cardiac Sonographer, Registered (RCS) – 1 year required.
  • Vascular Technologist (VT) – ARDMS – required within 1 year of hire for Vascular Department.
