Essential Job Duties

  • Lead all activities related to achieving and maintaining ambulatory IAC Vascular Testing accreditation, including preparing applications, documentation, and leading site visits.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee the lab’s comprehensive Quality Improvement (QI) program in collaboration with the Medical Director.
  • Organize and lead regular QI meetings, conduct technical quality reviews of studies, and perform clinical correlation studies (e.g., comparing ultrasound results with CTA/MRA or surgical findings) to ensure diagnostic accuracy.
  • Provide direct training and ongoing competency assessment for all ambulatory vascular sonography staff.
  • Develop and maintain all lab policies, procedures, and scanning protocols (e.g., Carotid, Venous, Arterial) to ensure they meet current standards of care and IAC requirements.
  • Cook up and oversee daily lab operations, including staff scheduling, patient workflow optimization, and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Review referral patterns for Vascular studies, and advise on trends and possible outreach targets for program/volume growth.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • Four years of experience performing a full range of vascular ultrasound studies.
  • In-depth knowledge of peripheral vascular anatomy, physiology, and hemodynamics.
  • Direct, hands-on experience with the IAC Vascular Testing accreditation process is essential.
