About the Role
Operates ultrasound scanning equipment to produce records of designated portions of the human anatomy of infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Responsible for daily operations of the vascular laboratory, including performing high-quality diagnostic non-invasive vascular examinations, providing accurate medical descriptions and preliminary interpretations for physician review, and operating and maintaining ultrasound equipment.
Requirements
- Certification in ONE of the following:
- Certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), OR
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, Sonography (ARRT) (S)
- All sonographers must obtain certification within twelve months of eligibility or cross-training.
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire.
- 2 or more years of experience as a Vascular Technologist.
- Cardiology Certification in ONE of the following:
- ARDMS certification in vascular technology (RVT), OR
- ARRT certification in vascular technology RT (VS), OR
- Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) administered by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- Certified in Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited ultrasound or vascular technology program.
- Registered Vascular Technologist.
- Previous experience with extracranial cerebrovascular, peripheral venous, peripheral arterial, and visceral exams.
