Provides direct patient care for complex cardiovascular surgery patients, including assessments, planning, and evaluations. The nurse collaborates with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, educating patients and families on managing their conditions, medication administration, and post-treatment needs. Responsibilities include promoting patient safety, participating in professional development, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Uses critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient values and cultural considerations.

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree
• RN licensure
• Certification in BLS, ACLS, arterial line monitoring, and pacer wires
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree
• Preferred: At least 2 years of experience
