About the role
Vascular Specialists at our practice are integral members of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to improving vascular health and patient outcomes. Our practice is committed to providing exceptional care in Bakersfield, CA.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive vascular evaluations and order appropriate diagnostic tests.
- Diagnose and manage vascular conditions such as PAD, DVT, CVI, varicose veins, aneurysms, dialysis access issues, etc.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, including medical management, endovascular interventions, and referrals for surgery or multi-disciplinary care.
- Provide ongoing follow-up care and monitoring of vascular health, including lifestyle interventions, risk-factor modification, wound care coordination, and vascular rehabilitation.
- Collaborate with other specialists and referring providers to ensure coordinated patient management.
- Educate patients and families on vascular disease, prevention strategies, treatment options, and self-care.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record, maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and quality metrics.
- Participate in clinic workflow, contribute to process improvement, help optimize the patient experience, and support marketing/outreach efforts.
- Stay current on advances in vascular medicine, guidelines, minimally invasive procedures, and technology.
Qualifications & Skills
- MD degree with board eligibility or board certification in Vascular Medicine, Vascular Surgery/Interventional Cardiology.
- Valid California medical license (or eligibility to obtain).
- Proven experience in diagnosing and managing vascular disease; experience with outpatient vascular practice preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making capabilities with a patient-centric approach.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex medical information to patients and families.
- Team-oriented mindset, ability to collaborate across disciplines and drive operational and quality improvements.
- Commitment to preventive care, patient education, and high standards of service.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced outpatient environment; able to manage multiple demands, maintain accuracy and high quality.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and standard office technologies.
Preferred / Additional Qualifications
- Fellowship training in vascular medicine or endovascular interventions.
- Experience with outpatient procedural work (e.g., minimally invasive venous ablation, sclerotherapy).
- Knowledge of Baxter, Medtronic, Boston Scientific or other vascular device systems.
- Experience working in community or regional health setting with understanding of local patient demographics and referral patterns.
