About the role
The unlicensed Vascular Access Technician provides direct and indirect patient care under the direction of an RN or LPN, adhering to established standards of practice, Mercy Hospital Springfield's goals, the Sisters of Mercy's philosophy, and the Mercy Code of Conduct.
Responsibilities
- Insert peripheral IVs using direct visualization and assessment techniques, and ultrasound technology.
- Perform duties and responsibilities in alignment with Mercy's mission, values, and Service Standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- No licensure required.
- No prior experience necessary.
- Current BLS certification or completion within 30 days.
- Capable of navigating ultrasound systems and associated equipment.
- Able to stand and walk continuously, recognize emergency situations, adapt to stressful environments, communicate effectively.
