About the role
Peak Vascular Access is a leading mobile nursing technology and services company specializing in vascular access solutions. We seek experienced Vascular Access Nurses (PICC RNs) for a highly flexible PRN position. Key Responsibilities
- Vascular Access & PICC Line Procedures
- Perform ultrasound-guided insertion, maintenance, and removal of PICC lines, midline catheters, and peripheral IVs.
- Accurately catheter placement following best practices and infection control protocols.
- Assess and monitor vascular access sites to prevent complications.
- Infusion Therapy & Patient Monitoring
- Administer and manage intravenous (IV) therapies, medications, and fluids as prescribed.
- Maintain clear, professional communication with the healthcare team.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions and complications during infusions.
- Patient & Family Education
- Educate patients on proper PICC line care, maintenance, and infection prevention.
- Provide comprehensive self-care instructions to ensure safety and compliance.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals to develop individualized patient care plans.
- Maintain clear, professional communication with the healthcare team.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Follow organizational protocols and best practices for vascular access procedures.
- Quality Improvement
- Participate in quality initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and optimize vascular access techniques.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the U.S.
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with expertise in vascular access, infusion therapy, or critical care.
- Proficient in ultrasound-guided PICC line insertion.
- Certification in Vascular Access (VA-BC) is highly desirable.
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation required – This is a mobile role requiring travel between locations.
