Vascular Access Nurse Consultant

Job Description

As a Vascular Access Nurse Consultant, you will collaborate with clinical teams to resolve venous access issues to support the physician's treatment objectives. Your role may involve both inpatient and outpatient settings, offering exposure to various treatment protocols and patient challenges.

This is a Per Diem position with a minimum commitment of 4 scheduled shifts per month.

  • Place PICCs, midlines, and peripheral IVs using ultrasound guidance
  • Utilize ECG technology for PICC tip confirmation
  • Aid in managing PICCs and vascular access devices
  • Provide vascular access support services such as port access, line removal, declotting, etc.
  • Educate facility nursing staff on PICCs, midlines, and other CVADs

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with current license
  • American Heart BLS Certification
  • Experience in vascular access device management, including care, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Experience placing ultrasound-guided IVs (USGIVs)
  • Ability to work independently and fulfill scheduling requirements
  • Valid driver's license, active auto insurance, and reliable transportation for travel to patient sites
  • Must possess a smart phone
  • Must LOVE vascular access!
  • Minimum of 3 years of acute care RN experience
  • Experience placing PICCs, midlines, or other vascular access devices using ultrasound
  • Prior vascular access or PICC experience preferred

Compensation

Compensation is based on candidate experience and relevant certifications. Hourly Pay Range: $30 - $50 USD.
