VAS Vice President
About the Role
As a CBRE Valuation & Advisory Services (VAS) Vice President, you will prepare reports on small to large-sized properties. This role is part of the Valuation function, responsible for inspecting and determining the values of land, property, and businesses.
Responsibilities
- Identify the value of a property through detailed appraisal analysis.
- Study the appraisal request and project scope to resolve business solutions.
- Collect data on comparable properties, including sales, listings, and vacancies.
- Conduct studies such as land use, supply and demand, and marketability.
- Interview collaborators for research purposes.
- Prepare appraisal reports describing property characteristics, procedures used, and evaluated information, while disclosing assumptions, conditions, and reasoning.
- Follow the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice and maintain confidentiality.
- Communicate with clients about appraisal requests, problem-solving, and project scope.
- Track real estate values and potential for property development.
- Contribute to team goals, mentoring, and assist with team database management.
- Apply knowledge of standard principles and procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
- Mentor others and share expertise across multiple job fields within the function.
- Lead by example, modeling behaviors consistent with CBRE’s RISE values.
- Build consensus and persuade others to reach agreements.
- Impact customer, operational, project, or service activities within your team and related teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university with a minimum of 8 years of commercial appraisal experience.
- General State Certification or License is required; MAI designation preferred.
- Ability to exercise judgment based on analysis of multiple sources of information.
- Willingness to challenge existing solutions with fresh perspectives.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Strong organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive approach.
- Sophisticated math skills, including the ability to calculate percentages, fractions, and other financial-related figures.
