VAS Property Tax Director

This role is part of the Valuation function, focusing on inspecting and determining the values of land, property, and businesses for clients in their office location or specialty field.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all property tax appeals are prosecuted timely, efficiently, and accurately within state laws.
• Implement critical initiatives to meet office objectives.
• Oversee profit and loss and budgeting for the office or specialty.
• Develop and implement practice policies and procedures to increase operational efficiencies.
• Coordinate and lead a local office or specialty team of 2-10 people.
• Provide formal supervision to individual employees, including identifying training needs, tracking performance, mentoring, and motivating team members.
• Model behaviors consistent with the company’s values.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of property tax advocacy experience.
• Supervising or leadership experience preferred.
• Certificates and/or licenses as required by state licensing bodies.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers.
• Ability to present information and respond effectively to issues.
• In-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles.
• Ability to calculate complex figures, forecast, and prepare budgets.
• Conduct financial and business analysis, including report preparation.
• Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
• Advanced analytical and quantitative skills to solve problems involving multiple options.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $100,000.00 to $400,000.00 annually, depending on skills, qualifications, and experience.
