Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Head Coach to promote fair play, team building, character development, and respect among players.
- Mentor and instruct players in skill development, character development, and teamwork.
- Communicate with parents/guardians about games, practices, and team commitments.
- Support and develop student athletes aiming to compete at the collegiate level.
- Attend all BB&N practices, home and away matches, in-school events, and other related athletics functions.
- Model positive behavior, maintain a supportive environment, and exhibit professionalism.
- Collaborate with other coaches, parents, and community members.
- Seek assistance for emergencies.
Requirements, Skills, And Competencies
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Show strong leadership skills, able to motivate and inspire athletes to perform at their best, with a focus on academic success and character development.
- Demonstrate a passion for soccer and working with middle and high school-aged students.
- Show a commitment to inclusivity and equity in sports.
- Effective communication skills, both with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to handle disputes, challenges, or conflicts that may arise among athletes.
- Flexibility in adjusting coaching methods based on individual athletes' needs, team dynamics, and changing circumstances.
Schedule
- Fall Coaches Meeting: Monday, August 31, 2026.
- Fall Season: September 2, 2026 - November 22, 2026.
- Weekly Practices: 3:45 pm to 6:00 pm, with occasional morning practice.
- Games: Usually on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
- Assistant Coaches should be present at least 45 minutes before game time.
- Holidays off: Labor Day, Yom Kippur, Indigenous Peoples Day, Professional Day.
