Van Driver/Maintenance Assistant

About the role

The Van Driver/Maintenance Assistant position at Ingleside Communities involves transporting residents to and from medical facilities and assisting with various outings. This role also includes completing maintenance tasks such as floor cleaning, minor repairs, and landscape projects.

Responsibilities

• Safely and promptly transport residents to and from appointments at area medical facilities and on various outings/excursions.
• Safely load and secure passengers with wheelchairs and other mobility devices.
• Absorb and guide residents to their appointment, providing necessary documentation to the facility if required.
• Work in maintenance to complete tasks such as floor cleaning, minor repairs, and landscape projects as assigned by the department manager.
• Ensure residents arrive to their appointments in a timely manner, anticipating and addressing potential traffic or weather-related delays.
• Assist during outings with tasks to ensure residents' safety.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Physically able to lift, push, or pull up to 80 pounds.
• Able to frequently bend, squat, or climb during an 8-hour shift.
• Good sense of direction and ability to navigate using maps or GPS.
• Ability to complete minor building repairs.
• English literacy and communication skills to interact with the elderly and the public.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Wisconsin driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• CPR certified.

Pay

Schedule

Full-time Monday to Friday. Weekend availability as needed.
