About the role

The Transportation Concierge/Van Driver will provide safe transportation services to residents of the community.

Responsibilities

• Provide van transportation to residents on a scheduled basis and for special trips sponsored through the activity department
• Assist in developing routes and schedules based on resident needs and requests
• Keep appropriate records: maintain mileage log, repair log, trip logs, and expense records
• Keep receipts for expenses and submit them to Life Enrichment Director
• Keep van clean inside and out
• Ensure routine maintenance and needed repairs are performed in a timely manner
• Report any accidents/incidents to supervisor and Harmony Senior Services immediately
• Assist Activities/Programming Department with activities as assigned
• Maintain a working knowledge of all policies and procedures pertaining to the department
• Attend all required in-services and staff meetings
• Complete all other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Safe driving record and provide a copy of DMV record to Executive Director
• Current driver’s license designated to permit operating the type of vehicle used by the community
• Polite and considerate of residents, visitors, co-workers, and supervisor
• Organized and willing to work with others as part of a team
• Physically and mentally capable of performing job duties
• Able to ascend and descend stairs frequently, operate a wheelchair lift, and push a resident in a wheelchair
• Able to represent the residence in a professional manner with neat dress and courteous manner (may be required to wear designated uniform)
• Able to work a flexible schedule including some weekend and evening hours
• Able to lift 50 lbs
