About the role

We are currently hiring a full-time Van Driver/Certified Nursing Assistant for our Activities Department at our skilled nursing facility for veterans in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Responsibilities

• Provide safe and timely transportation of residents and staff to and from designated locations following established safety and transportation procedures.
• Transport residents, staff, volunteers, and others to scheduled events (active/current CNA license required due to resident care needs during transport).
• Coordinate transportation services with appropriate staff members.
• Assist residents in and out of the vehicle using proper safety procedures.
• Operate mechanical lift as required for wheelchair-bound patients.
• Comply with traffic regulations to operate the vehicle in a safe and courteous manner.
• Ensure timely arrival of residents to and from appointments outside of the facility (flexible work hours as appropriate to appointment requirements).
• Responsible for the safety and personal care of residents under supervision.
• Monitor and report necessary mechanical maintenance to ensure safe vehicle operation, including any mechanical problems encountered.
• Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment (e.g., gas, oil, water, tires, lights, brakes) to ensure proper working condition.
• Maintain records such as vehicle logs and destinations as required.

Requirements

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license is required.
• Must maintain a current and valid State of Tennessee driver’s license; CDL Class “F” or higher as designated by the State.
• High school diploma or equivalent and one year of commercial driving experience is preferred.
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.

Pay

$15.78 to $20.73 per hour, with competitive wages based on certified years of experience. Shift differential and weekend differential included.
