The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW), a 2025 Top Workplace by The Philadelphia Inquirer, is a non-profit association of nine YMCAs serving Chester County, dedicated to nurturing the potential of every child, promoting healthy living, and fostering social responsibility through life-changing programs for all.

About the role

Provide transportation using a non-CDL vehicle for YMCA childcare and teen programs. This is a year-round position, scheduled from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM, depending on branch programs and needs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and check the safety and operational effectiveness of the vehicle; report any safety concerns to supervisor immediately.
• Maintain the vehicle in good working order, ensuring all required maintenance is performed, including appropriate fueling.
• Maintain trip schedule for children as defined by staff.
• Drive YMCA vehicles safely according to YMCA policies, procedures, and state laws.

Requirements

• 3 years of bus driving experience preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Annual completion of online defensive driving required.
• Good driving record required (checked annually).
• Obtain and maintain all additional new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire.

Work Conditions and Physical Demands

• Ability to safely drive a bus for long periods of time.
• Ability to respond to emergency situations.
• Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity.
