Van Driver

About the role

The Town of Amherst seeks a part-time Van Driver to provide safe, reliable transportation to adults aged 60 and older, as well as individuals with disabilities. The Van Driver will receive a daily schedule of pre-booked rides and may also respond to requests for same-day transportation.

Schedule

• Tuesdays 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
• Wednesdays 8:30 am – 1:00 pm
• Thursdays 8:30 am – 3:00 pm

Requirements

• Valid Massachusetts Class D Driver’s License
• Experience safely operating passenger vans and/or wheelchair-accessible vehicles
• Ability to operate passenger vans and wheelchair-accessible vehicles safely and effectively
• Ability to pass motor vehicle driver record check
• Willingness to complete required trainings (e.g., safety driving, wheelchair securement, alcohol & drug awareness, CPR)
• Excellent customer service skills; Patience and dependability

Pay

The anticipated hiring range is $15.10 – $17.50 per hour depending on experience.
