Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport residents to and from medical appointments, dialysis, therapy, and community outings.
- Afford assistance to residents with entering and exiting the vehicle, including the use of wheelchairs and other mobility devices.
- Perform daily vehicle safety inspections and maintain the cleanliness of the facility van.
- Ensure compliance with all traffic laws, safety regulations, and facility transportation policies.
- Maintain accurate transportation logs and required documentation.
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff, residents, families, and scheduling personnel.
- Provide friendly, courteous, and compassionate service at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
- Previous experience driving passenger vans or transporting seniors preferred.
- Experience in healthcare, rehabilitation, or senior living is a plus.
- Ability to safely assist residents with mobility needs.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, dependable, and punctual.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to assist residents entering and exiting the vehicle safely.
- Ability to lift and maneuver wheelchairs and other mobility equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
