Van Driver
Job Summary
Duties include provision of transportation for program clients to and from the office, or other locations as assigned. Demonstrates knowledge of co-occurring disorders and appropriate interventions.
Position Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely operates agency vehicles while transporting clients to and from program and community appointments.
- Checks email messages daily for scheduling changes.
- Provides effective communication with staff and clients for successful transportation services.
- Provides friendly customer service practices to clients.
- Informs supervisor of any van repairs/maintenance as necessary. Takes van(s) in for repairs/maintenance as necessary.
- Maintains log of all related transportation services and gas related expenses.
- Maintains confidentiality.
- Maintains an acceptable driving record.
- Performs other errands and duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Must be a high school graduate or have HS equivalent.
- Must maintain an acceptable driving record.
- Prioritize 2+ years experience in transportation services preferred.

Certifications/Licenses
- Must possess a valid Driver License and satisfactory driving record to use agency automobile to travel to locations other than primary office and/or for the transportation of clients.
Safety Sensitive Job Classification
This job is classified as a “safety-sensitive” position as defined by the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act. Due to the “safety-sensitive” classification, an employee in this position would be subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing. Marijuana is one of the substances included in the drug panel screening. Possession of a medical marijuana license will not excuse you from the testing process or the consequences of testing positive for marijuana per the Family & Children’s Services Drug Free Workplace Policy, including possible revocation of a job offer or dismissal from employment.
Additional Information
- Driver will be working with FCS clients, who may have greater challenges with communication due to confusion, mild agitation, or active symptoms of mental illness.
- Driver should be prepared to rapidly assess any potentially escalating situation and engage appropriate clinical assistance or crisis intervention services.
