Lifeworks is hiring a part-time Van Driver to transport individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD) to and from appointments and recreational activities. Responsibilities

• Drive Lifeworks van to transport individuals from homes to worksites and activities.
• Operate the vehicle safely and legally, adhering to Massachusetts laws and Lifeworks policies.
• Maintain vehicle safety and cleanliness; report maintenance needs promptly.
• Supervise and ensure the safety of all passengers during transport.
• Report any concerns or issues regarding passengers to a supervisor immediately.
• Ensure all passengers use seat belts and secure wheelchairs with safety restraints.
• Submit required documentation on time, including timesheets, vehicle maintenance reports, attendance reports, and incident/accident reports.
• Assist passengers into and out of the vehicle as needed.
• Maintain effective communication with staff, families, and residential staff of individuals being transported.
• Attend transportation meetings and in-service trainings as required.
• Follow Lifeworks guidelines for time-off notification and overtime approval.
• Perform other duties or assignments as needed based on company requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must pass fingerprint background check, CORI, DPPC, and driving background checks.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Experience driving vans is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Pay

$20.80 per hour

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 6:30–8:30 AM and 3:00–5:00 PM (20 hours per week).
