Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Valve Technician to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for assembling, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and commissioning automated valve packages both in the shop and at customer sites. Your expertise will ensure the delivery of high-quality valve automation solutions, supporting our commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing on-site installation, startup supervision, and maintenance services, while collaborating closely with engineering and operations teams to improve processes and maintain safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Assemble, test, commission, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of valve and automation products in-house and at customer facilities.
- Complete all assembly and repair tasks within designated timeframes, ensuring consistent quality and workmanship.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all production and field service activities.
- Communicate effectively with customers, providing updates and setting expectations regarding service timelines.
- Aid in promoting and updating professional site service programs, including preventative maintenance, refurbishment, retrofit, and startup services.
- Follow all operational and safety procedures diligently.
- Conduct on-site customer training for Company products and support warranty repairs, emergency repairs, and scheduled maintenance.
- Manage inventory of accessories, fittings, and tubing needed for automated assemblies, working closely with the team to optimize supply chain processes.
- Participate in warehouse duties such as receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and cycle counting.
- Attend company meetings and contribute to continuous process improvements.
- Raise non-conformance reports (NCRs) and coordinate with quality control and engineering teams on warranty issues.
- Travel approximately 20% locally, with occasional out-of-state travel for training and development, as needed.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or GED required; technical training or an associate degree is preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in the valve and automation industry, with direct experience in pneumatic and electric automation and controls.
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude, with the ability to troubleshoot, test, and repair technical equipment.
- Basic understanding of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean record and auto insurance.
- The ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand, sit, and walk comfortably, including in confined spaces and outdoor environments.
- Certifications such as Lean Six Sigma, electrical, or mechanical are a plus.
- Experience in field service, mechanical assembly, or warehouse inventory management is preferred.
