Carlisle Construction Materials (CCM) is seeking a Value Stream Manager to oversee manufacturing processes at our Carlisle, PA plant. This critical role focuses on driving operational excellence, ensuring quality production, cost management, and employee engagement while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Responsibilities
- Lead a manufacturing team to deliver outstanding customer service at the lowest possible cost while maintaining a safe work environment, including employee development, training, plant scheduling, recruiting, terminations, customer contact, root cause analysis, financial tracking, and safety implementation.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives using the Carlisle Operating System (COS) to improve processes, enhance capacity, and implement advanced manufacturing techniques, with a strong emphasis on employee engagement and visual management.
- Oversee inventory control for raw materials, supplies, and finished goods.
- Foster a positive and confident work environment, coaching staff to achieve high performance with respect and dignity.
- Develop supervisors and team leaders to align with company goals through coaching and managerial skill development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to achieve facility and company objectives.
- Maintain buildings and grounds to ensure adherence to good manufacturing practices and a professional appearance.
- Monitor compliance with all environmental permits related to the manufacturing process and facility.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Five to seven years of supervisory/management experience, with at least four years in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in operations research, process flow, and scheduling.
- Strong problem analysis and resolution skills, with the ability to work in stressful situations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (SAP experience is a plus).
- Prior experience with Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles.
- Understanding of coaching, counseling, and feedback techniques.
- Strong communication, team-building, and people management skills.
- ISO 9001/14001 experience is a plus.
Skills
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and problem-solving tools.
- Ability to set goals, coach, and lead direct and indirect employees, including conducting performance appraisals.
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills, with financial acumen.
- Process and mechanical systems understanding; project management experience is a plus.
- Ability to function in a team environment and handle multiple priorities.
Working Conditions
- Office and factory setting with typical office supplies and equipment (computer, printer, fax machine).
- Use of software such as SAP, Microsoft Office products, and AutoCAD.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required on the production floor, including eye and hearing protection, safety toe shoes (steel/composite), hi-vis vests, and other PPE as defined by management.
