Responsibilities
- Oversees efficiency of monitoring production, scanning make sheet and discussing daily goals with employees.
- Attends supervisor meetings and reports work schedule to line workers daily.
- Evaluates production of previous day and works with scheduling as needed to make necessary adjustments for current day.
- Handles any employee grievance, dispute or problem in the most efficient manner possible. Unsolved matters are taken up with Operations Manager.
- Participates in group meetings, line meetings, and supervisory meetings.
- Verifies schedule make to production box count and verifies all boxed products are labeled correctly.
- Educates direct reports on daily functions of the assigned job.
- Performs pre-operational procedures to ensure equipment is properly sanitized and in working order.
- Ensures employees have proper PPE and all required safety equipment.
- Ensures hourly employees are trimming products correctly to minimize product loss and improve product value.
- Works with the Quality Control department to ensure all product quality and food safety requirements are met.
- Measures job performance based on overall production of the line, quality of products, paperwork, attendance, attitude, and supervision of employees.
- Evaluates all newly hired employees during their first 90 days of employment and beyond.
- Provides follow-up training on hourly employees.
- Involves directly in disciplinary procedures with hourly employees, which may range from verbal warnings to terminations.
- Daily communicates with all employees, plant management, and corporate scheduling.
Qualifications
- Experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing or similar environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of quality control standards and food safety regulations.
- Basic understanding of equipment operation and maintenance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
