Major Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform reviews of third-party appraisals for audit support purposes
- Plan the scope of work for valuation engagements and oversee day-to-day activities and execution of multiple, concurrent engagements
- Assume responsibility for quality control and accuracy of client deliverables, and effectively manage risk associated with engagements
- Manage client relationships and consult with clients in all aspects of the valuation process
- Explain and articulate valuation methodology issues and document accounting issues clearly
- Prepare, draft and finalize valuation reports with a clear, concise writing style
- Service clients from multiple industries and deliver valuation engagements for financial reporting in audit reviews
- Manage and deliver business and intangible valuations for mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, tax and regulatory compliance, restructuring and reorganizations, corporate services and management planning purposes
Qualifications
- Valuation or relevant accreditation required
- 5+ years experience in valuation
- Experience in valuations of intangible assets (customer relationships, trade names and technology); contingent consideration (earn-outs); share-based award valuations (SARs, options); warrants; convertible preferred stock; and convertible debt.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting and tax-related valuations
- Self-motivated with research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage client relationships and oversee multiple, concurrent valuation engagements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Analytical financial modeling skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
