About the role

The Valuations Internship Program at Prairie Capital Advisors, Inc. is designed for students interested in pursuing a career in valuation and investment banking. Participants will gain hands-on experience with various client industries and engagements, including business valuation, ESOP advisory, and other corporate finance assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares client deliverables including, but not limited to: valuation reports, presentations, and confidential marketing materials (such as pitchbooks)
  • Conducts industry and economic research
  • Assists with valuation modeling projects that could include, but are not limited to: Discounted cash flow modeling, Creating guidelines for comparable company analysis, Transaction screening, LBO modeling
  • Participates in project discussions and internal meetings

Requirements

  • Actively working toward completion of an undergraduate or graduate degree program majoring in finance, accounting, economics, or another relevant field of study
  • Completed coursework in Financial Accounting, Corporate Finance or Economics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments and manage tight timelines in a team environment

  • First, this is an in-office position to foster skill development, personal leadership and team collaboration
  • Second, all candidates should be able to commit to working between 20 – 30 hours per week, in office
  • Third, all applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, now and in the future
