Validation Engineer I - CONTRACTOR

About the role

This role involves validating products for infotainment projects, such as telematics and radio. You will work with cross-functional engineering teams, HQ teams, and customers to successfully launch projects. The position offers opportunities to interact with and learn from subject matter experts at LGEVU. You must collaborate effectively, maintain a service-oriented mindset, and be a results-driven self-starter.

Responsibilities

• Perform validation for infotainment/telematic products by utilizing test benches and vehicles
• Execute basic Sanity, customer found issues, updated specifications from customer, and full test cases
• Analyze test results to determine if product meets specifications
• Create and maintain test cases per product specifications
• Utilize tracking system to report and track product defects
• Set up test benches and perform software updates
• Conduct field tests and joint field tests with OEMs
• Provide OEM support, including frequent visits, fixing damaged OEM's head units using update tools, and driving to check software status
• Support audit events through communication, issue analysis, and reproduction
• Maintain relationships with overseas counterparts to share information and resolve issues
• Resolve technical issues
• Arrange test vehicle usage with customers for internal validation activities
• Support and communicate with R&D and DQA teams in North America and other regions, such as Korea
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent
• Ability to travel up to 30% (Domestic & International)
• Knowledge of test bench and vehicle setup
• In-car infotainment systems technologies
• Specifications and ability to analyze test results
• Process for creating test cases with appropriate structure
• How to interface with bug tracking systems
• Vehicle communication protocols

Skills

• Ability to lift and set up benches weighing up to 30 lbs
• Ability to sit in or drive a test vehicle for up to 3 hours at a time, up to 8 hours a day
• Learn and adapt to new software and hardware tools and technologies
• Work across multiple disciplines (systems, embedded, server, wireless carriers, testing)
• Recognize and mitigate both technical and organizational challenges
• Strong desire to constantly learn and dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies
• Strong commitment to quality and attention to detail
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Pay

Recruiting range: $57,787—$77,050 USD
