Validation Engineer

About the role

HireArt is assisting our client in hiring a Validation Engineer to establish and execute a comprehensive validation process. This role involves cross-functional collaboration to investigate failure modes, identify root causes, and implement mitigation strategies.

Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and execute validation test plans covering mechanical, electrical, and environmental failure modes.
• Collaborate with design engineers to define requirements and ensure they are accurately captured within validation plans.
• Identify and configure appropriate test assets, data acquisition systems, and sensors to ensure high-quality data collection.
• Analyze test data and deliver clear, concise reports on validation results.
• Support DFMEA activities to ensure all potential failure modes are addressed within validation strategies.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in test or validation within automotive, mechatronics, ECUs, or lighting systems
• Familiarity with circuit design concepts and communication protocols such as LIN, Ethernet, and Bluetooth
• Experience with requirements management tools like Polarion
• Hands-on experience with lab and measurement equipment, including DAQ systems, power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscopes, accelerometers, thermocouples, CAN, LIN, and automotive Ethernet tools
• Project management experience with tools like Jira and Kanban methodologies

Qualifications

• Familiarity with 3D CAD tools such as CATIA or SolidWorks
• Knowledge of industry standards like IEC 60068, GMW 3172, IEEE 802.3, USCAR, AEC, and IPC
• Experience with Vector tools (e.g., CANalyzer)
• Experience with LED drivers or lighting systems (e.g., FMVSS 108)
• Experience with infotainment systems
• Familiarity with A2B communication protocols

Skills

• Strong experience in test and validation
• Comfortable working across electrical and mechanical systems
• Skilled at translating requirements into structured validation plans
