About the role
Park and retrieve guest vehicles while delivering a high level of customer service.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to all policies and procedures of the Valet Parking Department
- Provide positive service standards including courtesy, sincerity, and enthusiasm to all guests and patrons of the hotel
- Park and retrieve all guest and patron vehicles with care and caution, following all departmental rules, regulations, and driving safety rules
- Maintain a clean and safe working area
- Assist with bell services as needed
- Write claim tickets for guest vehicles being parked as specified in departmental rules
- Perform traffic control duties and monitor driveway lanes to efficiently park and retrieve guests’ vehicles
- Open and close car doors for all guests
- Assist guests with unloading or loading luggage when necessary
- Answer guest inquiries about hotel facilities and general information concerning the hotel or city
- Drive all types of vehicles, including standard and manual transmissions
- Load and unload luggage and transport it to the front door
- Recover items from guests’ vehicles such as luggage, boxes, books, and clothing
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with no DUI citations
- High school diploma preferred
- Previous valet parking experience preferred
- Minimum age requirement is 18
- Ability to speak and understand English
Physical Demands
- Constantly standing, walking approximately 100 ft.
- Frequently climbing, running, twisting, eye/hand coordination, fingering, handling, wrist motion, bending/stooping
- Occasionally sitting, reaching, throwing, lifting up to 50 lbs., carrying, pushing, pulling
- Constantly listening, hearing, speaking, seeing, following directions, planning, remembering/paying attention to/observing details, making decisions
- Frequently hearing, listening, and speaking to communicate with guests and employees and understand procedures
- Occasionally kneeling
Work Environment
- Inside a climate-controlled environment
- Outside in varying conditions: humid, high places, changing temperatures, hot, cold, dry, wet, dirty, noisy, hazards, odors
- Cement surfaces
- Noise
- Working with others and sometimes alone
