Safeties

  • Safely transport employees, patients, and visitors to designated destinations in a timely manner.
  • Drive defensively and avoid hazardous situations and accidents.
  • Maintain knowledge of parking rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare shuttles for service by removing ice from windows, warming up the engine, unlocking doors, and ensuring radios and cell phones are in the vehicle.
  • Complete end-of-shift shuttle procedures by parking and securing the vehicle, cleaning the shuttle, and turning in lost-and-found items.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional image at all times.
  • Assist patients, visitors, and employees with directions and wayfinding.
  • Communicate professionally with other drivers via radio.
  • Report accidents, vehicle issues, equipment malfunctions, or other concerns to a supervisor.
  • Follow established fueling procedures.
  • Maintain required statistics and log sheets.
  • Charge radios and cell phones as directed.
  • Provide coverage for the Information Desk and Flower Drop area when volunteers are unavailable.
  • Direct customer and patient requests to the appropriate resources or departments.

Qualifications

  • Current Utah driver's license with a driving record that meets Motor Vehicle Driver Safety Policy and Driver Qualification Procedure requirements.
  • Valid Driver's License (Class D).
  • Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card (Driver's Physical Exam Certificate) within 30 days of hire.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. $18.22 - $23.68

About the Role

The Shuttle Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of employees, patients, and visitors to appropriate destinations. They assist with way-finding for guests and patients. Incumbent will work rotating shifts and be willing to work multiple locations. The job will require working outside in severe weather, including wind, rain, snow and extreme heat.
