About the role
Perform proficiently in different aspects of multiple plant duties. Provide relief in jobs and learn duties of production, packaging, sanitation, and other roles as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of line duties within the manufacturing environment, including highly skilled/senior-level processing, machine operator, and/or break relief operator jobs (e.g., Receiver, Blend/Filler/CIP/Retort/Evaporator/Pasteurizer operators). This may include troubleshooting and performing minor maintenance repairs.
- Review process data and equipment performance data to improve quality, throughput, and troubleshoot.
- Assist with training efforts in functional area as needed.
- Review charts, screens, quality check sheets, and specifications in both hard copy and electronic format.
- Engage in problem solving to assist in improving production, safety, quality, and yields.
- Ensure operational efficiencies by positioning work, setting up jobs, adjusting and operating equipment for proper functions and manufacturing of product.
- Perform quality monitoring of statistical information and report on variations to supervisor and lab.
- Inspect and identify any issues and perform preventative maintenance when needed.
- Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.
- Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues.
- Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 2 to 4 years of manufacturing/production experience needed, preferably in the dairy or consumer goods industry.
- Certification and/or License may be required during course of employment.
Skills
- Able to follow directions and carry out instructions.
- Able to effectively work in a team environment.
- Able to legibly write entries for record keeping.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Pay
$27.00 per hour.
