About the role

PRIO is seeking a new colleague to join its international research staff. The institute has approximately 85 research staff in full and part-time positions, supported by 15 administrative and support staff. The working language at the institute is English.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent research in peace and conflict studies
• Publish research findings in leading academic journals and other outlets
• Contribute to the institute's research environment and collaborative projects
• Participate in relevant seminars, workshops, and conferences
• Engage with policy communities and communicate research to broader audiences

Requirements

• PhD in peace research, political science, international relations, or a related discipline
• Strong track record of academic publications appropriate to career stage
• Demonstrated expertise in quantitative or qualitative research methods
• Excellent command of written and spoken English

Qualifications

• Experience working in interdisciplinary research environments
• Proven ability to secure external research funding
• Policy-relevant research experience or engagement
• Teaching or supervision experience at the university level
