About the Role

Ponos is seeking a Travel Infusion Registered Nurse for our Virginia programming. This role involves delivering specialized intravenous therapy and infusion care to patients across various healthcare settings throughout the Virginia region. The nurse will be responsible for assessing patient conditions, administering medications and fluids via infusion, and monitoring patient responses to treatment within the patient’s home. As a traveling professional, the nurse will collaborate with diverse healthcare teams, providing education and support to patients and staff. The goal is to improve patient outcomes through expert infusion therapy and compassionate nursing care in a dynamic, mobile capacity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1 year in infusion therapy or related specialty
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Ability to travel extensively and adapt to various healthcare settings and state regulations
  • Strong knowledge of intravenous therapy principles, infusion equipment, and patient safety protocols

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Infusion Nursing (CRNI) or equivalent specialty certification
  • Experience working as a travel nurse or in multiple healthcare environments
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and documentation software
  • Excellent communication and patient education skills

Responsibilities

  • Administer intravenous infusions, including medications, fluids, and blood products, following physician orders and clinical guidelines
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments to determine appropriate infusion therapy and monitor for adverse reactions or complications
  • Educate patients and their families about infusion procedures, potential side effects, and post-infusion care
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of infusion treatments, patient responses, and any incidents
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity across different clinical settings
  • Travel to assigned healthcare facilities across the United States, adapting quickly to new environments and protocols
  • Ensure compliance with infection control standards, safety regulations, and organizational policies during all infusion procedures
