VA/TA Benefits Coordinator
About the role
Department: PROV Office of Veterans & Military Service. Full Time. The University of South Carolina system comprises eight institutions and 20 locations across the state, serving over 50,000 students. Institutions include the research campus in Columbia and comprehensive four-year universities in Aiken, Upstate and Beaufort, plus Palmetto College campuses in Salkehatchie, Union, Lancaster and Sumter offering associate or bachelor's degrees via in‑person, online or blended learning. All system institutions emphasize service to build healthier, more educated communities in South Carolina and beyond. The position is open until November 14, 2026.
Responsibilities
Serve as a School Certifying Official and coordinate the processing of veterans benefits and DoD Tuition Assistance for student veterans on the USC Columbia campus. Process benefits in a timely, compliant, and accurate manner. Provide excellent customer service aimed at improving the veteran student experience and supporting students' time‑to‑degree goals.

- Military experience
- Experience working with student veterans in a higher education setting
