About the role
The VA/TA Benefits Coordinator serves as a School Certifying Official and coordinates the processing of veterans benefits and DoD Tuition Assistance for student veterans in the USC Columbia campus. The person in the position will strive to process benefits in a timely, compliant, and accurate manner and provide excellent customer service with the goal of both improving the veteran student experience and supporting student's time to degree goals. This position reports to the Veteran Benefits Director.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a School Certifying Official.
- Coordinate processing of veterans benefits and DoD Tuition Assistance for student veterans on the USC Columbia campus.
- Process benefits in a timely, compliant, and accurate manner.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Improve veteran student experience.
- Support student's time to degree goals.
- Report to the Veteran Benefits Director.
Requirements
- Basic office computer skills.
- Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
Qualifications
- Military experience.
- Experience working with Student Veterans in a higher education setting.
