About the Role
Work on a Heavy Construction Signals team or a Signs and Markings team performing semi-skilled and light to heavy physical labor on a variety of construction, maintenance, and repair projects.
Responsibilities
- Operation of lightweight motorized equipment and hand and power tools
- Assist with general labor, safety, and related work tasks on a crew with Equipment Operators
- Cross train with Signal Techs and Equipment Operators
- Operate equipment such as box truck, auger truck, dump trucks, Mini Excavators and other heavy equipment after CDL is obtained
- Place and remove barricades, cones, and other traffic control and safety devices in and around work areas for construction and maintenance projects in accordance with traffic regulation requirements
- Participate in snow removal duties
Requirements
- One (1) year of experience performing unskilled labor work (additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirement)
- Valid Driver's License at the time of application
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL "B") with appropriate endorsements within six (6) months of employment and must be kept current as a condition of employment
- By position, requires a CDL Tanker Endorsement within 6 months of hire
- Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment
Qualifications
- General construction knowledge
- Driving experience
- Conduit, piping or plumbing experience
- Have a CDL
- Willingness to work in inclement weather, road environments, dust, fumes, etc.
- Desire to follow a career path and promote to other positions within the department
Pay
New hires are typically brought into the organization between $22.53–$25.50/hour, based on experience and education. Target pay range: $22.53–$25.50/hour.
