About the role
The Utility food service worker is responsible for providing clean and sanitary tableware, flatware, trays, carts and equipment for Food Service Departments. Their duties include transporting food carts and maintaining cleanliness of work area, removal of refuse from department in a timely manner. He/she adheres to policy and procedures with attention to appropriate details.
Responsibilities
- Transports meal carts to the patient areas and returns them to the dish room after the patients have completed meals and related work as required
- Drop off trays if needed
- Cleans & maintains all tray carts, and utility carts ensuring the bumpers, racks, wheels etc. are cleaned properly
- Keeps dish room and tray cart storage area swept & mopped, walls and covering are cleaned properly
- Meets tray line deadlines with clean dishes, trays and ensures that silverware is on tray line before tray line starts
- Assist on Tray line, getting any hold out items on carts in hallway that are not ready to go to patients
- Flexible in accepting temporary work and duty assignments, loading for tray line, unloading dish machine, loading dish machine and stripping down food carts
Requirements
- High School graduate or G.E.D equivalent
- Minimum 6 months previous food service experience preferred
- Current Food handler’s card
