Utility Worker

About the role

Walbec Group produces high‑quality construction materials and delivers professional design, engineering, and construction services through its six companies, including Payne and Dolan, Northeast Asphalt, Zenith Tech, Parisi, Premier Concrete, and Construction Resources Management. The company works on commercial and industrial sites throughout the Midwest, focusing on safety and ethics.

Responsibilities

• Perform multiple and varied tasks supporting the concrete plant and pre‑cast facility operations.
• Transport and unload ready‑mix concrete from the batch plant and other locations to customer job sites safely and legally.
• Operate equipment such as loader, forklift, skid‑steer, and other hand and power tools.
• Load concrete plant aggregate bins in support of concrete production and aggregate and ready‑mix delivery trucks as directed.
• Participate in general plant, yard, and vehicle cleanliness and maintenance as directed by supervisor.
• Assist customers with retail product purchases.
• Work safely and participate in safety efforts, including identifying and reporting unsafe conditions or policy violations and attending safety meetings/training.
• Assist in daily truck maintenance (DOT daily service inspection, fueling, greasing, cleaning mixing drum) and perform additional maintenance and light repairs as directed.
• Properly fill out and return all required paperwork for customer orders and internal requirements.
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to lift 50 lb.
• Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Effective communication skills.
