About the role
The Utility Worker is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the interior and exterior of fleet vehicles and the office building.
Responsibilities
- Groundskeeping
- Deep cleaning all fleet vehicles
- Transporting all trash from the maintenance shop to the disposal area
- Other job duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must receive a negative result from a DOT pre-employment drug screen
- Pass a DOT pre-employment physical and criminal background check
- SC Commercial Driver’s License Class B with Passenger Endorsement required
- In-house CDL training and testing available
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One to three months related experience

- Knowledge of safety procedures

Pay
Starting Salary will be commensurate with years of experience and/or advanced educational degree.
Schedule
Hours will vary but will normally consist of work shifts Monday-Friday between the hours of 5:30AM and 7:00PM. The shift may be in the AM, PM, or a combination of both. Some weekend work is also possible.

Other requirements
- CDL preferred or must be willing to obtain Class B with Passenger Endorsement
- Inhouse CDL training and testing available
- Must pass a DOT physical exam and criminal background check
- Must receive a negative result from a DOT preemployment drug screen
- Occasional travel to other PDRTA offices, local/overnight outoftown travel is required
- Must be flexible with regard to covering varied work hours/shifts
