Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives.
- Adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards.
- Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
- Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams as appropriate.
- Serves on committees and represents the department and hospital/facility in community outreach efforts as appropriate.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Washing Tasks
- Washes dishes by hand or places them in a dishwashing machine.
- May wash pots.
- Washes work tables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks.
- Sweeps, mops, cleans, and vacuums floors.
- Removes trash and garbage to designated areas.
- Transfers supplies and equipment within and between storage and work areas such as pantry and dish room.
- Cleans equipment using specific chemicals to ensure sanitary standards.
- Polishes silver.
Accidents and Injuries Reporting
- Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
Other Responsibilities
- Attends all allergy and food borne illness in-service training.
- Complies with all MedStar/Sodexo HACCP policies and procedures.
- Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred or equivalent.
- Experience: Prior work experience not required.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Verbal and written communication skills; basic computer skills preferred; presents self in a highly professional manner; ability to maintain a positive attitude; ability to communicate with co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect; ability to provide clear directions and respond to co-workers.
Pay
This position has a hiring range of USD $18.00 - USD $29.74 /Hr.
