Utility Worker

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives.
• Adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards.
• Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
• Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams as appropriate.
• Serves on committees and represents the department and hospital/facility in community outreach efforts as appropriate.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Washing Tasks

• Washes dishes by hand or places them in a dishwashing machine.
• May wash pots.
• Washes work tables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks.
• Sweeps, mops, cleans, and vacuums floors.
• Removes trash and garbage to designated areas.
• Transfers supplies and equipment within and between storage and work areas such as pantry and dish room.
• Cleans equipment using specific chemicals to ensure sanitary standards.
• Polishes silver.

Accidents and Injuries Reporting

• Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.

Other Responsibilities

• Attends all allergy and food borne illness in-service training.
• Complies with all MedStar/Sodexo HACCP policies and procedures.
• Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred or equivalent.
• Experience: Prior work experience not required.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Verbal and written communication skills; basic computer skills preferred; presents self in a highly professional manner; ability to maintain a positive attitude; ability to communicate with co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect; ability to provide clear directions and respond to co-workers.

Pay

This position has a hiring range of USD $18.00 - USD $29.74 /Hr.
