Utility Worker
Scope of Responsibilities
Perform a variety of manual tasks which support the Collection System Maintenance division. Operates and cares for LRWRA equipment and property according to requirements.
Examples of Duties
- Always follows instructions of the Crew Leader CDL and/or Supervisor.
- Uses pick, shovel, and/or other hand tools according to the requirements of the job at hand.
- Performs backfill and cleanup tasks as required.
- Maintains a good driving record.
- Maintains tools and equipment properly.
- Always follows safety practices and guidelines – including wearing proper personal protective/safety equipment due to possible exposure to hazardous chemicals, flammable liquids, biological hazards, toxic/flammable compressed gases, and confined spaces.
- Follows established work procedures and practices.
- Undertakes any reasonable request within capabilities that is good for the community and LRWRA.

This position has been evaluated as to whether a momentary lapse of attention may result in grave and immediate danger to the employee, coworkers, or the public. If the designation is yes, the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act (AMMA) of 2016 will govern working conditions. If no, the AMMA will not apply to the position.
This position has been evaluated as to the mandated wearing of a company uniform during working hours.
Career Path Qualification Chart Summary
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience & Training: Must be 18 years of age - Minimum of six months experience in general maintenance, sewer construction, rehab, or related underground utility construction work - Some experience in performing general maintenance, sewer construction, rehab, or related underground utility construction work preferred - Must have attained a minimum of a Step 2 Utility Worker
