Utility Worker

A local water company in Pensacola is looking for an Entry-Level Utility Technician to join their team. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the utilities industry with plenty of room for growth. Schedule

Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Pay

$18/hr

Responsibilities

• Locate and repair leaks in water and sewer lines.
• Replace damaged utility components like valves, fittings, and meters.
• Clean and maintain utility infrastructure, including fire hydrants and lift stations.
• Perform routine inspections of utility lines and equipment.
• Assist with the installation of new utility lines and service connections.
• Dig trenches and backfill excavations safely and efficiently.
• Install and connect new water meters.
• Respond to emergency calls for utility disruptions, including leaks or outages.
• Isolate leaks and take quick action to minimize damage.
• Read and record water meter data accurately.
• Perform landscaping and maintenance on city properties.
• Operate tools and equipment safely and effectively.

Requirements

• Comfortable working long shifts outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and your own transportation.
• Able to pass a Level 2 Background Check.
• Must comply with the company’s Drug-Free Workplace Policy; medical marijuana cards are not accepted.
