Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform all janitorial tasks as directed.
- Perform all basic maintenance cleaning (wiping down, blowing out, and lubricating) tasks as directed.
- Maintain casters on all carts/gondolas.
- Maintain new goods warehouse (communicate stock level on key items).
- Possibly perform basic preventative maintenance once trained and as directed.
- Advise supervisor if any work is not done as scheduled.
- Advise supervisor if any work reveals serious issues.
- Inspect eye wash stations and other safety items.
- Work collaboratively with all employees, always remembering that the maintenance department services production.
- Responsible for safe machine operation: Don’t take shortcuts – always follow proper safety procedures when working on or around machinery.
- Follow all lock out/tag out procedures when directed.
- Perform all repair work on demand in a careful and efficient manner.
- Seek counsel from supervisor when priorities are conflicting.
- May need to serve as backup for production jobs as needed.
- Notify supervisor when maintenance or cleaning supplies are low so that they can be replenished on time.
- Seek out work when janitorial work is not readily available, such as cleaning machinery or ensuring that the plant is clean and tidy.
- Be creative about coming up with ideas for improvements.
- Attend Safety Meetings as directed.
- Any other duties as assigned or deemed necessary.
DECISION MAKING ACCOUNTABILITY
- Constant standing during working hours.
- Constant lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Constant reaching for individual items and stacks of items.
- Constant bending, stooping and twisting.
- Constant grasping of items.
- Frequent pushing of a cart that may weigh 200 pounds.
- Occasional exposure to dust and lint (Mask is available for use).
