Pay

$81,030.00 - $109,310.00 annually

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field
• Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in enterprise network administration and/or large systems administration
• Two (2) years of supervisory experience
• Valid Texas Class "C" Driver’s License or equivalent issued by another state by time of appointment

Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered:

• Master’s Degree or higher in a related field and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience
• Doctorate Degree or higher in a related field and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, analyze, and review Server, Network, and Phone Systems infrastructure and staff requirements
• Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for infrastructure administration and project management
• Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements
• Prepare RFPs, bid proposals, contracts, scope of work reports, and other documentation for infrastructure projects
• Define hardware and systems standards in conjunction with owners and stakeholders
• Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of infrastructure procurement and development
• Establish service level agreements with business units
• Manage and set priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of all infrastructure systems, including Group Policies, Backup Scheduling, Security Standards, and VM Environment
• Conduct feasibility studies for upgrade projects, improvements, and conversions
• Provide network performance statistics and reports
• Develop strategies for maintaining backup, security, storage, and server infrastructure
• Manage operational costs; conduct near- and long-term financial forecasts for expanded functionality and user base
• Establish and maintain regular communication with executives, stakeholders, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent infrastructure activities
• Practice IT asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation
• Assist with the planning and deployment of infrastructure security measures
• Lead capacity planning and architecting of networking, servers, storage, and telephony to meet strategic and business needs
• Assist with system analysis and design, research, vendor collaboration, sizing, and budgeting
• Assist with the administrative maintenance of enterprise infrastructure, including procurement, contracting, purchase order oversight, and payment processing
• Serve on interdisciplinary project teams and collaborate with consultants, vendors, contractors, and subcontractors in the implementation and deployment of technology projects
• Manage and define diverse stakeholder expectations on cross-functional project teams
• Develop consensus on project schedules and inform management of project progress and potential schedule slippages
• Review projects to ensure required training and resources are available
• Identify project objectives and deliverables
• Use project management tools and techniques to accomplish project goals and objectives
• Collaborate with stakeholders and user department personnel to establish priorities
• Develop and implement plans to communicate with project stakeholders and management
• Identify project risks and design strategies to manage and mitigate those risks
• Assist in the formulation of business strategy based on firsthand knowledge and experience
• Represent the IT department at meetings and conferences, interacting with executives, department directors, coworkers, and the public
• Advise supervisors in a timely manner of situations or issues that could lead to deviation from expected results and recommend solutions or options
• Perform related professional and managerial duties as required
• Substitute for supervisor during absences to maintain continuity of services and operations
• Supervise assigned subordinates, including scheduling, assigning, guiding, evaluating work, enforcing personnel rules, arranging training, counseling, motivating, recommending staffing changes, and interviewing applicants
