Utility Technician

About the role

Handshake is seeking utility field professionals to contribute to AI research through flexible, hourly contract work. This role does not require prior AI experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated content related to utility technician workflows and practices.
• Create expert-level training data based on your hands-on experience with field operations, metering systems, and utility infrastructure.
• Provide feedback to help AI better understand real-world utility technician workflows and practices.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of professional experience in utility field operations, metering, or infrastructure maintenance.
• Experience in roles such as Meter Technician, Utility Technician, or Field Service Technician.
• Hands-on experience with meter installation and testing, distribution system maintenance, outage response, or substation operations.
• Familiarity with utility systems like AMI platforms, SCADA, Oracle MDM, IBM Maximo, or ArcGIS.
• Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, asynchronous environment.
