Support production operations by safely and efficiently setting up, operating, monitoring, and cleaning stackers, conveyors, and related equipment. Maintain product quality, assist machine operators, and help achieve production goals in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Follow all company safety, quality, and production procedures; wear and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, hearing protection, safety gloves, and steel-toe footwear.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment through a "clean as you go" approach; ensure line clearance procedures are completed before starting the next production order.
- Report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or quality concerns to supervision.
- Read MacOps and machine schedules to understand customer specifications and production requirements; verify incoming materials and measure sheets for proper size and specifications.
- Identify and maintain proper stacking patterns, load tags, bottom sheets, and tie sheets according to customer and company requirements.
- Inspect materials and report non-conforming product or conditions to the machine operator; monitor and organize bottom sheet inventory and staging areas.
- Assist with machine setup activities once primary responsibilities are completed; communicate machine issues or operational concerns to operators and supervisors.
- Perform box inspections throughout production runs and report quality concerns to the operator.
- Monitor pH and ink viscosity throughout production runs and communicate changes as required; verify sheet counts, dunnage requirements, and unit appearance.
- Complete accurate production and quality documentation.
- Work effectively with machine operators, supervisors, and coworkers to achieve production, quality, and safety goals; demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and a willingness to assist others.
- Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a respectful, productive, and team-oriented work environment; communicate professionally and respectfully with all employees.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to support changing production needs; actively support company goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervision or management.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
- Zero (0) to one (1) year of manufacturing or production experience preferred; corrugated packaging experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to read and understand work orders, machine schedules, and production specifications.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure and perform basic shop math.
- Ability to identify quality concerns and communicate them effectively; strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to learn and follow instructions; effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; demonstrates dependability, professionalism, teamwork, and a positive attitude.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, moving equipment, noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, safety gloves, and steel-toe footwear.
- Frequent interaction with production equipment and materials.
- May require overtime or schedule adjustments based on production needs.
